Project “Šafko“ was established in 2014 and its idea was to place ship containers at Šafárikovo square with purpose to refresh not-so-fancy-anymore boulevard of Old Town in Bratislava. Containers should primarily serve commercial purposes and premises of small local businesses. One of the requests for own business was coffee place that we designed based on given conditions. Flexibly. Our purpose was to reach on a small space final area that serves many options. Determinants were compactness, narrow disposition, requirements for light, mobility and option of variable space using. In coffee place we chose mobile and foldable furniture for multi purpose using. Seating is possible to be adjusted as per actual needs – classic option (table and benches on both sides), japanese style (low seating), cinema style (cascade seating) or event style (loft space). Pieces of furniture are able to be joined or converted into different style. Feeling, that you enter all the time new space, although we are talking only about couple of square metres, wonder everybody without any doubts.
Not a less importance belongs to terrace (what else than mobile and variable) that was connected to interior and we widened our so far very narrow options. This innovative space stimulates within one young spirit, brings a lot of innovation and cosy atmosphere while drinking and enjoying coffee.
